Stamford IDEA Teachers at NSTA

Three Stamford middle school teachers (Michael Petrescu (Cloonan), Brian Butera (TOR), and Laura Dickey (Dolan)) attended the NSTA conference last week as representatives of the district's IDEA (Integrating NASA digital educational assets) grant supported by NSTA/NASA. This grant provided blended staff development opportunities for Stamford educators around issue related to Space and Atmospheric education. The teachers who attended had documented their use of the NSTA Learning center resources via an on-line portfolio tool and presented the work they did with students as a result! They did a great job telling the story of how they utilized NASA digital resources to enhance their classroom instruction.

Here they are in action at NSTA presenting to their peers from around the country!

Here I am accepting an award on behalf of Stamford for the three years of hard work that was done by Stamford educators during the grant. Dr. Albert Byers of NSTA, to my left, and Dr. Steve Marks of Oklahoma University, to my right, were the Co-Principal Investigators on the project.

Jim :-)
